Cellphone Insurance

From delving into personal finance in recent years, I am mostly anti-insurance but it has actually aided me for once.

The bottom line is: insurance is only good if you can’t afford to purchase [that] an item at an unexpected time. Or if the replacement of that item is overwhelmingly expensive in comparison, in an expected range of time.

The phone insurance was only worth it if it failed & didn’t fail due to water damage or screen breakage (where there would be a deductible). Matter of fact, the customer service rep warned that if my phone gets water damaged (it is raining like cats and dogs outside) then it will void the option. Handshake means nothing to them. I didn’t get an answer to my query on the deductible cost if it occurs.
